Nakhchivan city

It is the capital of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhcivan. The territory is 191,82 square kilometers; the population is 85,7 thousand people (01.08.2011). The distance from Nakhchivan to Baku is 536 km. It is one of the ancient cities of Azerbaijan. It is situated in the center of large scale industry, scientific and culture as well as significant railway and in the junction of motor transport. There is the International Airport. Nakhchivan city is located in Nakhchivan plain and in the Coast of Nakhchivan River. The climate is continental. The average temperature is – 3,80 C in January and 26,90 C in July, annual precipitation is 236 mm.
