Azerbaijan’s mixed judo team has started the world championship in Baku with a victory.
The local team managed to prevail Austria in the 1/8 finals. Only Gunel Hasanli (70 kg) from the staff ended her bout with a defeat. Another female judoka Ichinkhorloo Munkhtsedev was declared a winner as she had no rival, while Irina Kindzeska (+70 kg) won her bout.
Tural Safguliyev (90 kg) and Tornike Kokauri (+90 kg) won in the men’s competitions. Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) did not have to fight, since the Azerbaijani team had provided the victory before his bout- 4: 1.
Japan will be the rival in the 1/4 finals.
