Zivarbay Ahmadbayov’s statue Zivarbay Garaybey oglu Ahmadbayov is the first educated Azerbaijani architect. After the announcement of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan, he became the chief architect of Baku and held that post till 1922. Zivar bay Ahmadbayov’s statue was raised in front of the "Nizami" metro station on 26 May 2011. It is not accidental that Zivarbay Ahmadbayov’s statue was reared in front of "Nizami" metro station. Author of the architectural building on the left side of the metro station was in fact the chief architect of Baku Zivarbay Ahmedbeyov. The street in front of the station has been named after him, as well.
