Lakit temple –Being the memorial of the V century of Caucasian Albania Lakit temple is one of the most ancient architecture monuments of that period. The remaining of the temple is in one km distance from Lakit village, Gakh region. The round formed temple was surrounded with the hall with the diameter of 22 metres. The temple has got four entrance doors from north, south-east and west sides. These doors have been worked out as the portals from outside. The most interesting and important aspect of the building is the structure of its internal part. The arches, laying on 4 strong supports and the columns between these supports placed in the central part, hold the cupola covering the main part of the temple. The composition of the columns is completely eight-pointed. The building’s plan construction creates the definite impression about the general appearance of it. Inside and outside compositions of the buildings with such structure in general was two-storey. The walls have been built with the riverbed stones, and the columns – with the burnt bricks. The shaved limestone has also been used in the construction of the building. The temple has been two-storey in initial period and was covered with the tile.
