Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev Memorial Museum resides at the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan which used to be Taghiyev’s residential house. The museum consists of nine rooms, which are Taghiyev’s study, the Oriental Hall, a library, a billiard room, a dining room, an enquiry room, Sona khanym Taghiyeva’s boudoir, a bedroom and a dressing room. The Memorial Museum’s exposition starts with Taghiyev’s study, where along with the bookcase, writing table, armchair, chair and cabinet that once belonged to Taghiyev, other subjects made on the basis of an old family album are displayed. There are also portraits of Iran’s rulers Nadir shah Afshar and Fatali shah Kajar and of the Russian Emperor Nicholas II and his spouse Alexandra Fyodorovna hanging on the walls here, along with the picture Tempest On the Sea by painter Aivazovsky. Besides, all the medals and orders that Taghiyev was ever awarded are displayed here. The Oriental Hall stands out for its beauty and magnificence. Carved tables and chairs decorated with Oriental ornaments, a piano and some armchairs are standing here. On the windows of human height there are Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev’s name and surname written in Arabic letters. The library houses a sofa set with silk seats, two wooden tables, some chairs, armchairs and bookcases, where the Digest of Laws of the Russian Empire is kept. In the centre of the billiard room there is a billiard table. There are also leather high-back sofa and armchairs here. In the centre of the dining room there is a long rectangular table with chairs upholstered with velvet standing around it. A silver ice-glazed dining set, a present from the emir of Bukhara, is displayed here. There are a dining set, silver knives and crystal wineglasses with H. Z. Taghiyev’s monogram on them, which were brought by him from France, arranged in the cabinets. There also is a large cupboard decorated with beautiful ornaments in the room. From the panels and monitors installed in the enquiry room one can get information about Taghiyev’s life and activities. Sona khanym’s small parlor differs from the rest of the rooms for its beauty and originality. Its ceiling is made of ornately shaped mirror panels and its walls are decorated with multicoloured patterns. Sometimes the parlor is called the Mirror Hall. In the centre of the room there is an original round sofa. Besides, there are also four-cornered tables with ornaments, soft armchairs and chairs here. The bedroom consists of two parts. In the first part there are a high double bed with ornaments and a console mirror, and in the second one there are a small round table, a sofa, armchairs and chairs.
