“Giz Galasi” Painting Gallery “Giz Galasi” Painting Gallery was created as a private gallery in 1999 by Salhab Mammadov, professor of Azerbaijan Institute of Art and his son, graphic artist Emin Mammadov. The director of the gallery is Emin Mammadov. The Gallery has 3 exhibition halls. At “Giz Galasi” painting gallery one can follow the path of Azerbaijani art in XX century. Furthermore, majority of works of XX century Azerbaijani painters are represented in the gallery. Painting gallery hosts individual exhibitions, photograph expositions of Azerbaijani painters and other cultural events. There is also a souvenir shop in the gallery. Besides this, gallery studio hosts sales exhibitions in accordance with the contracts signed with the painters. “Giz Galasi” Painting Gallery opened its Berlin branch “Berlin-Baku-Gallery” Exhibition Salon in 2007. Exhibitions of Azerbaijani and German painters are held at this branch. This gallery also plays an important role in popularizing Azerbaijani gallery. In 2012, V International Contemporary Art Biennale was held at “Giz Galasi” Painting Gallery.
