"It is suggested to erect Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev's monument in front of Icheri Sheher Metro station. This is the only suggestion that we have today," a member of the jury of the open sculpture competition, Chairman of the Union of Architects Elbay Gasimzade said in an interview on memorial of Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev.
He said that proposals on Tagiyev's statue are still under discussion: "The competition will end on June 30, and then the jury will select the most decent project. It is suggested to erect Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev's monument in front of Icheri Sheher Metro station. This is the only suggestion that we have today."
The Chairman of the Union added that statues of the outstanding Azerbaijani architects Mikayil Huseynov and Sadig Dadashov are also planned: "Sketches of sculptures are already ready, presented to the Ministry of Culture".
