Sheikh Zahid tomb – Sheikh Zahid ibn Sheikh Rovshan Amir (1215-1300 years) has been the famous scientist, philosopher and sect leader of the XIII century. His tomb is at the cemetery in Shikhakeran village of Lankaran. He was known as the thoughtful scientist all round the east. After restoration of the independency in our republic the visitors from different countries to Lankaran interest with the place of this tomb. In 1990 year Sheikh Zahid’s relative came from Turkey to Lankaran and visited the tomb. Turkish guest brought an interesting document about him. This book was named: «Türükü-ü-Aliyə-i Halvetiyye silsiləsində və təriqətin təməlində yer alan böyük murşidlərin bəzilərinin həyat münakibləri» (new settlements). The brief information about some famous sheikhs since the most ancient time till our century was given in the book. Sheikh Zahid’s real name was Tajaddin Ibrahim, and his father’s name was Rovshan Amir. Rovshan Amir married in the village of Iran’s Gilan province and moved to Siyavar village of Lankaran. Sheikh Zahid was born in that village. He studied at Tabrizli Sayyid Jamaladdin in Pensar village of Lankaran. And the pseudonym Zahis was given to Sheikh Zahid from Sayyid Jamaladdin. Zahid means the man who is praying. After the death of his teacher Jamaladdin, Sheikh Zahid had lived for 20 years and was busy with the agriculture. 19-th person noted in the list is Ahi Mohammad Nuruhalvei – local people call him “Piri Arab”. Piri Arab’s tomb is also located near Kholmili village; it’s a famous temple from the ancient times. Sheikh Zahid and Piri Arab have been close friends. Sheikh Zahid had been the sect leader. That’s why the village’s name was “Shykhakeran (Sheikhekeon – Sheikh’s houses). Sheikh Zahid is the fourth grand-father of Sheikh Ismayil Khati from the mother hand. Sheikh Zahid’s tomb was put in order after restoration of the independence of our republic. There is the street named after Sheikh Zahid.
