One of Azerbaijanis received the highest honorary name in the World War II – Soviet Union’s Hero name was Jamil Mahammad Ahmadov. He was perished in the fight going for exempt of the Pinsk city in October 6, 1944. When 50 year jubilee of the victory was celebrated in Jabrail district in May, 1985, Jamil Ahmadov’s house museum opening had been held. The memory museum was placed in a 3-room building with a big yard; the decision about opening J.Ahmadov’s memory complex was made by the government in 1988; his statue had been prepared by Omar Eldarov. Intellectuals of Jabrail district, veterans of the Great Patriotic War including guests from Baku had taken part in the opening of the museum. The museum begun to its activity with about 500 exhibits; the number of these exhibits had been increased to 800 later on. The museum exposition could provide comprehensive information about military patriotic activities of J.M. Ehmadov, the owner of A. Nevski order and a hero of the Soviet Union. The majority of the exhibits kept in the museum were considered rare. There were soldier letters, military dressed pictures, his poems, autographs, soldier clothes, diploma of "Soviet Union Hero", including his last letter dated on 29.09.1944. J.Ahmadov was the only person in all USSR who had been a commander of a regiment (company) and Soviet Union Hero when he was 20 years old. The memory museum of such personality was functioning as a branch of the ethnography museum of Jabrail district; in the result of Armenian aggression it has stopped its activities in 1993.

J.Ahmadov’s memory in Poland, far-away from his homeland; Garay Asadov’s memory in Romania, Gafur Mammadov’s memory on the shores of Blak Sea show to the world the noble, humanist, peace-loving qualities of the Azeri people. But unfortunately, J.Ahmadov’s home land where he grew up, Jabrail-Karabakh is under the occupation of the enemy. A few exhibits from his memory museum were brought to Baku and kept in the “Istiglal” museum centre in closed condition.
