Theatre of Young SpectatorsBaku Children’s Theatre was founded on the basis of artistic amateur drama circles of pioneers and pupils on March 15, 1927. With the order of People’s Commissariat of Education of Azerbaijan in 1928, Baku Children’s Theatre started to function officially. Baku Children’s Theatre was named “Azerbaijan State Theatre of Young Spectators” according to the order of People’s Commissariat of Education of Azerbaijan on July 18, 1936. Azerbaijan State Theatre of Young Spectators was awarded Laureate of Lenin’s Komsomol of Republic in 1978 and “Sheref” Order (“Honor”) in 1979. Azerbaijan State Theatre of Young Spectators was given today’s building of the theatre in 1989. Being always loyal to its traditions, every new season the theatre introduced more interesting shows to its broader audience. At present, Azerbaijan State Theatre of Young Spectators is still loyal to its traditions and puts various interesting spectacles on stage for every age group. During these years the theatre has effectively served to children and teenagers, played an important role in bringing up the young generation with values of morality, benevolence and patriotism. Playing an important role in morally improvement of young generation, formation of their world outlook and bringing up them with love to the Homeland, the theatre has implemented several important projects in this direction. So the theatre has implemented the projects of “Theatre, education and our morality”, “We love theatre”, “First student ID, the joy of first meeting with theatre”, “Persons at the summit”, a project keeping the genius persons of Azerbaijan always at the focus of attention, “Martyrs don’t die, Homeland don’t divide”, a project dedicated to the memory of martyrs sacrifice their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The theatre has successfully performed and been on tours in international theatre festivals in Moscow, Volgograd, Tumen, Krasnodar, Selinograd, Tbilisi, Erevan, Tashkent, Ashkhabad, Kazan and other cities.
